2012 MEN’S CONFERENCE PRAYER CHALLENGE
Calling all ladies and men to prayer – I invite all God’s people everywhere, of all denominations, to join FBCW in focused prayer, (Acts 1:14; 4:31) for the Men’s Conference 2012.
Our Women’s Prayer Vigil is Thursday 7:00 PM, February 2nd 2012 in the Magnolia Room at FBCW, all ladies welcome. If it is possible, will you join us in a three day fast starting February 2-4, to intercede on behalf of the 10-12 thousand men, their families and our nation? For those in distant cities, I invite you to form your own prayer vigils. If you would like to contact me regarding a prayer vigil, please e-mail me at rondamaxwell@comcast.net. Feel free to use the prayer points outlined below.
Our nation and our families are being destroyed, our Churches are weakened and being pulled into the mire. Much ground has given way to a lack of spiritual discernment. Prayer is sorely lacking.
Now is the time to act, to intercede in prayer. Where are the men? We need, and God is calling out for Himself, courageous biblical men who will stand on the whole council of God’s Word: living and exemplifying it out to their families, workplaces, social situations, ministries, and to the nations; men who have the heart of God for the lost souls of the world. Men who meet with and pursue God daily in their lives, men of fervent passion and deep devotion to Christ above all else; men who fear God, men who understand and experience the power of prayer, who shut themselves in with God for the pleasure of God! Men with absolute dependence on God.
E.M. Bounds said in his book, The Power of Prayer, “Man is looking for better methods. God is looking for better men. Man is God’s method.” This is the hope for our nation, our families and the nations of the world – the Church raised up in her glory with Christ through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
We must return prayer to its rightful place; Jesus sought out intimacy with His Father daily (Luke 5:16). How much more do we, as His people, need to be in deep intimate communion with God for God, and to intercede for His people and the lost? (Col 4:2). The power of prayer is hardly being tapped into as in years long passed. The men of old knew their God, their sin, and the power of prayer, the absolute necessity of prayer!
We should be overwhelmed, in awe, that through repentance and prayer we can lay our hands on Yahweh, the Creator, Savior, Sustainer, the Holy One, the Righteous One, who calls us into His presence! Yet so few enter to meet with Him and dwell there, experiencing the power of prayer in their lives and God’s heart for His Kingdom to the exaltation of Christ. ( 2 Ch 7:14,15; Ps 91:1,2).
Andrew Murray said in his book, The Sstate of the Church, an urgent call to repentance and prayer, “Everyone who desires to live for Christ and His Kingdom should ask God to remove the terrible blindness which hinders men from seeing that there is just one thing lacking in the Church’s work: the power of the Holy Spirit. There is just one thing required: that the Church falls down in intense fervent prayer to wait until she is endued with power from on high.”
My heart-cry for all of us; O God raise our vision and intimate knowledge of Yourself in the GREATNESS and GOODNESS of You. May we be so inclined to rest our hearts and ears on Your bosom, to hear, perceive and know the wonders of Your person in all the fullness of Your Son – Your Christ to the glory of Your Church, that the world would see and know the true living God. Amen. (Php 3:7-11; Ps 63:1-8; Mt 28:18-20).
Pursuing God for God (Ps 42:1,2),
